New Land Rover sales are Booming
Land Rover models are all selling well - increasing year-on-year sales both last month and the month before. The British car maker has recently told the motoring press that it repeated the growth in two consecutivemonths. Land Rover sales in Britain across for the whole range reached more than 7,000, a rise of almost 30% compared to August 2008. The model range sales breakdown was:
- New Land Rover Discovery 3: +48 %
- New Land Rover Freelander: +37 %
- New Land Rover Range Rover +25 %
- New Land Rover Range Rover Sport +20 %
John Edwards, MD of LR UK said, "This is a terrific result - it's been two consecutive months that Land Rover saw a rise in its domestic sales. This is clear evidence of the successful 2010 model cars that have recently received universally ravereviews; it also reflects the stability which has started to come back in the new car market place, which is so critical to our business. This additionally confirms that LR continues to offer a range of vehicles that are highly desirable to its customers. Land Rover car dealers are taking orders for the latest 2.2L, 3.0L and V8 Freelander, Discovery and Range Rover Sport models.
Mini Land Rover Coming to a Showroom Near You!
Land Rover is consolidating factory operations with Jaguar and is planning to extended its model range. The Land Rover Birmingham factory in Solihull and the Castle Bromwich base for Jaguar is to be be combined over the next 5-10 years. The Tata owned JLR Group says there are to be be no redundancy measures despite the fact that consolidating production of Range Rover, Discovery and XJ, XK and the XF production lines will mean that some two hundred thousand cars will be built in the same factory. By comparison, Mini produces more than 300,000 cars every year at its Oxford factory. Tata warns that demand patterns for different models shift like never before and this change will provide more space to grow and real production line flexibility. The new Land Rover LRX (a mini RangeRover) is a decidedly upmarket SUV. First deliveries of the new Land Rover LRX will be in 2011 at Halewood. The new Land Rover is creating almost 1000 new jobs at a time when the plant's future was not safeguarded. The discontinued Jaguar X-Type range is currently being produced alongside the Land Rover Freelander. Land Rover is promising new hybrid and electric power trains with light weight alloy body and chassis technology which will make its products relevant in an increasingly low-carbon world.
NEW RANGE ROVER AUTOBIOGRAPHY MODEL FOR 2010
A new Land Rover Range Rover Sport Autobiography model will be revealed at the motorshow in Frankfurt this week. A Limited Edition, the Autobiography are to be manufactured, fitted with a choice of powerplants: the 3.6L TDV8 diesel or impressive if thirsty V8_5.0L Super charger version. The new Range Rover Sport Autobiography is all about exclusivity; the cabin is trimmed in exquisit dual-colour hide, there's a new front nose design with unique radiator grille and body mouldings, there are extra airvents and bespoke 20" diamond-cut rims. LandRover has introduced a funky new option: a back seat that reclines at the touch of a button (assuming your chauffeur knows when that moment is appropriate)? MD of LandRover, Mr John Edwards commented: “Land Rover sales in August 2009 have risen by 11% versus August 2008; these are encouraging signs that the British market is coming back. "Land Rover is certain that exciting new models always attract new buyers, who like the improvements we make to our cars. The 2010 LandRover line up is certainly our best, and we are confident the new Autobiography will find strong demand.” The new Range Rover Sport Autobiography will be available in Land Rover car showrooms from early 2010, and new Range Rover Autobiography discount prices will be released in good time for the launch.
