ISUZU TO MAINTAIN TIES WITH GM
Truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd is to maintain its tie-ups with GM despite the American giant's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Nikkei daily reported today. Earlier this week, GM filed for C11 bankruptcy protection in a New York court which was the 3rd largest Chapter 11 case in American corporate history. The auto makers confirmed their respective commitment to maintain existing tie-ups, which include joint ventures on diesel engines. According to Nikkei, the companies operate diesel engine JVs in the US and in Poland - GM owning 60% of that company and Isuzu owning the 40% remainder. The two motor companies will continue to supply pick-ups to overseas markets, the Japanese newspaper said.
