New 2010 Ford S-Max
10th January 2010. The Ford S Max is almost long in the tooth. It's been around for three years now - yet still there is no clear rival to match its great looks and superb all round abilities. The S Max 140PS diesel is the pick - the sharp performance is enhanced with car-like handling yet can return almost 40mpg in everyday driving. Passengers are spoilt with masses or space in every dimension - yet there's still useable boot space. The only slight spoiler is that the list price has gone up and up - but luckily there are pretty heavy discounts to make the Ford S Max an affordable bargain.
NEW GREEN FORD MONDEO TITANIUM - ECONETIC
Ford has announed a new Mondeo model driven by the acclaimed ECOnetic technology. The new model is called the Mondeo Titanium 2.0 115 PS TDCi which produces 139 gkm of CO2. Ford targets company car users in particular because vehicle taxation for business drivers will become a key decider in the new low carbon age. Ford did not want to compromise the Mondeo's spec, so the new range will be offered in 5dr hatch or 5dr estate configuration. Each delivers 139 gkm C02 and betters 54 mpg. Whilst it benefits from the latest Ford ECOnetic low-carbon improvements, the new Mondeo in other respects remains unchanged over the existing Titanium range. The C02 reduction is achieved with:
- 16" Y-Spoke light weight alloy rims,
- Gearchange timing assist,
- Aerodynamic body design and air deflectors,
- Spoiler, hatch lid (not on the estate).
The new Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0L 115 PS TDCi costs £23,295 for the 5dr whilst the estatecar starts at £24,545. The tax disc (VED) costs £120 PA (Band E), which taken together with its better fuel consumption means the new Ford Mondeo Titanium Econetic 2.0L TDCi 115 BHP appeals to fleet buyers and private customers alike.
NEW FORD FOCUS RANGES - LATE 2010
The all new Ford Focus will in many ways redefine the hatch back - it will combine sleek good looks, great driver enjoyment and cutting edge hi-tech. The 3rd generation Focus takes Ford to another level, with its sweeping design and a range of super-efficient (and greenest yet) turbo motors. There is an all new nose, with bigger and lower grille combined with bold new head lights. The wheel arches are chunkier and over hangs are shorter which imbue the new comer with a definitely musculine image. Options such as panoramic sunroof and reverse camera will be available. A new range of turbo Eco Boost motors start with a 1.0L 4-cyl turbo engine which offers 89PS or 108PS, however, many will buy the new 1.6L turbo unit which is available with either 148PS or 178PS power. Ford has combined high performance with lower consumption and better CO2 to give make new Ford Focus amongst the cleanest on the market. There is also a new range of diesel models including the 1.6L/TDCi, delivering 128PS, and a 2.0L at 168PS or 197PS. Ford also offers a Power Shift automatic twinclutch gearbox. Startstop will be introduced across the Focus modelrange. These new Ford Focus cars will become global models, available worldwide including North America following the new Fiesta (available even in the Chinese market). The new Ford Focus car range is a German product, whilst the new 7 seater Focus Grand CMAX will be constructed at Ford's Spanish facility. Firm UK car prices have not yet been released, but it is certain that Ford dealers will offer good discount prices, almost from the start. Ford will also offer excellent car finance (PCP or HP) and leasing deals on the new Focus range.
